“Islands' Narrative: Literature × Visual Art” Exhibition

The Hong Kong landscape is very unique, islands is one of the local characteristics. We selected six islands as the study objects. Six pairs of writers and visual artists were invited to collaborate for cross-media dialogues in the way of literature and visual arts creation in order to show the multi-sensory relationship between nature, literature and visual art. The exhibition showed different dimensions of history, tourism, living, humanities, natural wilderness and ecological species of the islands. The islands became the junctions of writers and artists. They explored the possibility of cross/multi-disciplinary dialogue through the islands. The possibility of dialogue is the existence of differences. The differences could cause infinite creations and changes, and will always lead to the process of “becoming” where the dialogue of concept, history and reality emerged. The island is not the end to reach, is just the beginning.
